Here's how the mid-career median figures look for some representative cities :
Houston, TX: $298,638/-
Los Angeles, CA: $325,164/-
Miami, FL: $288,091/-
New York, NY: $340,450/-
Seattle, WA: $317,008/-
Many physicians will be striking it rich on the backs of the Baby boomer generation and Urologists are bound to make big money too. Why ? Lotsa aging people and lowering cancer deaths mean more operable cases of prostate cancer !
"As the baby boom generation reaches the age where everyone's getting prostate cancer, it's going to absolutely go through the roof in the next decade or two. It's going to be a good time to be a urologist. We'll hit 300,000 cases in the next 10 to 20 years. From a public health perspective, it means we'll be doing more surgery and spending more on prostate cancer.", says Dr. Alfred Neugut, the director of cancer prevention and control at Columbia University Medical Center.
